Xypex Scope of Work:
Phoenix Power entered into a power purchase agreement with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) for the US$1.5 Billion Sur IPP Project. The project’s Sea Water Intake Reservoir is 18 mtrs. deep from GFL and 50 mtrs. away from seashore, the structure is inundated in seawater and under severe hydrostatic pressure and exposed to severe chloride attack and high salinity. Concrete structure with three layers of external protection had developed micro cracks in surface all around walls and floor.
Two coats of Xypex Concentrate were applied to protect the concrete internally and eliminate the cracks.

Underground Water Retaining Structures and Basement Roof Slabs
Xypex Scope of Work:
The waterproofing of the basement section of the nuclear plant was paramount as it is exposed to the harsh underground conditions being in the proximity to the sea. The tidal variations too had its impact on the varied hydrostatic conditions.
The concrete treatment with Xypex Concentrate not only imparted impermeability but also enhanced durability to the concrete for its high chemical resistance. The proven performance of Xypex resulted in complete waterproofing of the roof sections of the Baraka Nuclear Facility. The Al Barakah Nuclear Plant is the only project of its kind where Xypex has been used in nuclear power facility.
Two coats of Xypex Concentrate were applied to protect and enhance durability of water retaining structures and roof slabs protection from condensation.
Around 7,500 kgs. of Xypex Concentrate was consumed.

Xypex Scope of Work:
The purpose of Xypex inclusion in the project is for long term concrete protection and durability in harsh environment and severe operational constraints. Epoxy paint was originally specified and Xypex was chosen as a much superior technology compared to any other surface application products available in the market, for long term durability and sustainability.
Two coats application on all internal wall and floor area of the entire Seadaf Structure - Backwash Tank, Dirty Water Tank, Outfall Structure. All defective concrete and tie holes were protected with Xypex Patch N Plug & Xypex Concentrate Drypac Solution.
